Jaimie Goodwin appeared as a top 10 finalist on the third season of the Fox reality television series So You Think You Can Dance. Nicknamed “Jaims,” she says that she started dancing at the age of seven. She trained in different styles such as tap, ballet and jazz for 12 years, and then studied musical theater, pointe and contemporary lyrical dance for seven more years. Jaimie classifies her style and techniques as either jazz or contemporary lyrical dance. Apart from dancing, she says that she also loves to write on any topic, ranging from poetry to even research papers.
One of her inspirations is her mother, who was also a writer, and Jaimie intends to write a book eventually about her mother’s struggle with cancer. Her favorite professional dancers are her older sister and Travis Wall, who also appeared in a previous season of So You Think You Can Dance. Jaimie has performed in numerous musical theater productions and public functions, among them a benefit event in London, England for the group Dancers Responding to AIDS. She intends to do commercials or try to get into film within the next ten years, and also publish her planned book about her mother to help raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.
