Biography
2010 (Senior): Started 12 of 14 games at cornerback…had 55 tackles and five pass break-ups…season-high six tackles against Colorado (Sept. 18), Utah State (Oct. 23), Boise State (Nov. 6), and New Mexico State (Nov. 27)…had one forced fumble against Charleston Southern (Sept. 25)…two pass break-ups at Fresno State (Oct. 9).
2009 (Junior): Appeared in all 13 games, making 10 starts at cornerback…tallied 41 tackles (31 solo and 7 assisted)…career-high seven tackles at Washington State (Sept. 12)…had three interceptions, including two at San Jose State (Nov. 21)…tied for seventh in the WAC in interceptions…also recorded eight pass break-ups, three of which occurred against Utah State (Nov. 7)…ranked fourth in the WAC with 11 passes defended.
Prior To UH: Attended Butte Community College in Oroville, Calif., for two seasons…helped lead team to the 2008 national championship after a perfect 12-0 record…team claimed California Community College Athletic Association championship and NorCal Conference title….a two-time all-conference cornerback…had 21 tackles, one interception and 10 pass break-ups as a sophomore en route to first-team honors…named second-team all-conference as a freshman…teammate of current UH running back Alex Green.
Prep: A 2006 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Portland, Ore….played running back, wide receiver and defensive back in two years of varsity football…as a junior, caught 17 passes for 349 yards and eight touchdowns…also recorded four interceptions…tallied 959 yards rushing and seven interceptions as a senior…a two-time all-state selection at defensive back…earned first-team all-state honors as a running back during his senior year and second-team honors as wide receiver as a junior…earned all-state honorable mention in basketball…also lettered twice in track.
Personal: Born in Portland, Ore…majoring in speech…has four brothers and two sisters…mother is Erica May of Portland, Ore…raised by paternal grandmother, Vanessa Strong, of Portland, Ore.
